Should People Who Refuse To Assimulate Be Allowed To Immigrate To America? I Don't Think So!

The airwaves today are wall to wall Trump after he suggested America bar Muslims from coming to America until our government can get the immigration process right.   I take exception with Donald Trump's position that all Muslims should be barred from immigrating to America...that said, there is an argument to be made that everyone from EVERYWHERE should be kept from immigrating to America (legally or illegally) until we get our own house in order when it comes to people immigrating to America.  

1.  Lets deal with our borders.

2.  Lets deal with those who overstay their Visa.

3.  Let's come up with a system of checks and balances that facilitates legal immigration into our nation, while at the same time keeps undesirables out, including criminals, malcontents and possible terrorists.

4.  Figure out a system that makes sure those who come here do assimilate into our country, learn to read, write, speak and understand our language.

Let us as a nation take a time out, absorb those who are already here, and come to an agreement on who should or should not be allowed to come to America, and once we our in agreement, lets stick to the list, apply equal standards to EVERYONE, regardless of their race, creed, religion, sexual orientation or country of origin.

First thing that should be on that list of things for our government to address when deciding who can and who cannot immigrate to America should be their willingness to assimilate, which includes learning to speak, read and comprehend our English language.  If you have been in America for 10, 20 or more years and still cannot read, speak and comprehend English, then you have no business living in America.   The days of pushing 2 for Spanish needs to end.   If you are not willing to relinquish citizenship granted to you from some other nation, and swear allegiance to America, then you should not be here.   A perfect example of this can be found in sports where we have citizens of America playing professional sports, making millions of dollars here in America who go play sports for their home country's Olympic team...that is a divided allegiance that needs to end.

As a nation,let us not ban someone based on their religion, but let us also not allow people access to American citizenship who are not willing to fully embrace what it means to be American. 

Matthew 6:24 states, "No one can serve two masters.  For you will hate one and love the other, you will be devoted to one and despise the other."   People cannot be true citizens of America if they still pledge allegiance to another country, and that country's value systems and laws.  Still hold duel citizenship here and elsewhere.  It is in this context that Trump has opened up an ugly can of worms that no one really wants to discuss, finding it easier to label "The Trump" a heretic than discuss the issues that he so un-artfully brought to light in his call for banning all Muslims.

Let's as example look at Saudi Arabia which is a Muslim country, most of those who live there practicing Islam in one form or another.   No problem so far...BUT, it is also a country that both embraces and has codified Sharia Law, a set or rules and regulations based (supposedly) on the Quran, which is supposedly the word of Allah, much like Moses and the Ten Commandments.   Let's face it, Sharia Law has NO PLACE in America, no place in our culture.   Is it fair under our constitution to ask people to swear to uphold our laws and system of government, and denounce and/or abandon their beliefs in Sharia Law? If someone of Muslim faith wants to believe that their faith requires them to embrace and support Sharia Law, we as a nation do have a problem when it comes to them becoming citizens of our nation.   Perhaps the best example of this problem is the growing problem of "Honor Killings" here in America.

I do not agree with how Donald Trump has framed this important conversation that our nation, and our leaders need to have...who gets to come to America, and what rules and regulations do we need to have in place when it comes to saying yes or no to those wishing to immigrate here.  However I do agree that A) we should declare a full and complete moratorium on immigration until we address the problems with the immigration system, and B) we should not allow 10,000 refugees from war torn areas of the Middle East unless we have the ability to fully and completely vet each and every one of them before they ever set foot on America's shores.

Syrian and/or Muslim Refuges of War Should NOT Be Allowed In America

Well aware of the words on the "Statue of Liberty" and what America stands for.  Also know that our immigration policies are the most liberal in the world.   They are even more liberal when you consider the fact that our Federal Government refuses to deport over 12 million illegal aliens who are in America  illegally.   We have a president that wants to let up to 10,000 refuges from the war in Syria and the Middle East into America, while we have governors from 30 states saying WE DO NOT WANT THESE PEOPLE LIVING IN OUR STATE.  Let's not invite another Paris,another 9/11 to our shores, lets not go giving the leader of ISIS the ability to make his prediction of attacking America on our shores come true by inviting his terrorists in through the front door.

The governors are right!  

I'm as liberal as they come on most issues, but consider some very basic hard math.  If even one tenth of one percent of these war refugees are actually terrorists, that means allowing ten thousand refugees into America brings with them TEN TERRORISTS...it only took 8 terrorists to wreak havoc in Paris this past weekend.  Let's say America lets 20,000 war refugees into our country...that means we have 20 terrorists that were given a free pass into our borders...how many terrorists did it take to create 9/11?

Even the most generous of countries have the right some times to "Just say no!" and in light of this Jehad against the west, it is time for America to take a pass on this one.   Let Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, or any other country in the world play host...We here in America should err on the side of safety of our own citizens an refuse to participate in the relocation of this group of refugees rather than risk allowing terrorist a free pass to come to America.

Let Putin Take On ISIS

So, the big news today is Putin opting to side with Bashar Hafez al-Assad, is sending in serious forces and equipment to take on these monsters...let him use his country's lives and treasure propping up an evil man, and taking on the most dangerous groups of terrorist the world has ever seen...in the end, think the outcome is going to be pretty clear.   When his countryman start seeing their soldiers decapitated, their heads put on stakes, their love affair with Putin will soon wane.   Furthermore, he is going to have no choice eventually but to pull his troops out, and in that vacuum Bashar Hafez al-Assad will fall.

Smart money seems to say the United States cannot afford to let Russia and Putin carve out a larger role in the Middle East...I disagree.   Perhaps we can use Iran, Iraq and Russia coming to the aid of Syria against ISIS can be used to America's advantage.  First, Iraq as it was, the Iraq Americans fought and died for is no more, so let the country splinter sooner rather than later...in the meantime, while Iran and Russia are spending hundreds of billions if not trillions waging war in Syria, let us do two things, perhaps three things.

1.   Strengthen our ties with Turkey.

2.  Back the Kurds not only with military equipment, but in becoming a separate country, helping them in carving out their own nation from the splintered Iraq.

3.  Put our diplomatic efforts into helping a new Kurdistan and Turkey become both friends and allies.

While our military is watching the show over in Syria, lets rebuild our military, including building some world class military bases and airstrips in the new Kurdistan.   Position Turkey, Kurdistan and America to jump in and fill the void that WILL HAPPEN when Russia fails in the Middle East, and Bashar Hafez al-Assad's government collapses.

Before you write me off as a heretic or lunatic, consider this...Israel is already trying to strengthen ties with Iraqi Kurds, and are already getting most of their oil from them.  Having American military bases in a new Kurdistan would allow us to have Israel's back in a much more concrete way, would allow America to easily strike Iran if the need should arise...such as when they break the nuclear agreement which we all know they will.

The fly in the ointment...Turkey is not happy with Israel right now.   Question is, could Turkey come around...yes, but only when and if Israel is willing to get serious about creating a Palestinian State...As long as Iraq is splintering up into God knows what, wondering if there is any chance the Palestinians would consider having their own state carved out of the crumbling nation that was Iraq....especially if they knew that the United Nations, America, and the Kurds would help in defending the borders of their new nation...I know the Palestinians want Jerusalem as their capital, but what's more important...peace, and your own place to call home, or standing on principal while your people suffer?

Putin wants to take on ISIS and defend Syria...I say let him have at it, but only if we use the time to America and our allies best advantage.
