Should People Who Refuse To Assimulate Be Allowed To Immigrate To America? I Don't Think So!

The airwaves today are wall to wall Trump after he suggested America bar Muslims from coming to America until our government can get the immigration process right.   I take exception with Donald Trump's position that all Muslims should be barred from immigrating to America...that said, there is an argument to be made that everyone from EVERYWHERE should be kept from immigrating to America (legally or illegally) until we get our own house in order when it comes to people immigrating to America.

1.  Lets deal with our borders.
2.  Lets deal with those who overstay their Visa.
3.  Let's come up with a system of checks and balances that facilitates legal immigration into our nation, while at the same time keeps undesirables out, including criminals, malcontents and possible terrorists.
4.  Figure out a system that makes sure those who come here do assimilate into our country, learn to read, write, speak and understand our language.

Let us as a nation take a time out, absorb those who are already here, and come to an agreement on who should or should not be allowed to come to America, and once we our in agreement, lets stick to the list, apply equal standards to EVERYONE, regardless of their race, creed, religion, sexual orientation or country of origin.

First thing that should be on that list of things for our government to address when deciding who can and who cannot immigrate to America should be their willingness to assimilate, which includes learning to speak, read and comprehend our English language.  If you have been in America for 10, 20 or more years and still cannot read, speak and comprehend English, then you have no business living in America.   The days of pushing 2 for Spanish needs to end.   If you are not willing to relinquish citizenship granted to you from some other nation, and swear allegiance to America, then you should not be here.   A perfect example of this can be found in sports where we have citizens of America playing professional sports, making millions of dollars here in America who go play sports for their home country's Olympic team...that is a divided allegiance that needs to end.

As a nation, let us not ban someone based on their religion, but let us also not allow people access to American citizenship who are not willing to fully embrace what it means to be American.

Matthew 6:24 states, "No one can serve two masters.  For you will hate one and love the other, you will be devoted to one and despise the other."   People cannot be true citizens of America if they still pledge allegiance to another country, and that country's value systems and laws.  Still hold duel citizenship here and elsewhere.  It is in this context that Trump has opened up an ugly can of worms that no one really wants to discuss, finding it easier to label "The Trump" a heretic than discuss the issues that he so un-artfully brought to light in his call for banning all Muslims.

Let's as example look at Saudi Arabia which is a Muslim country, most of those who live there practicing Islam in one form or another.   No problem so far...BUT, it is also a country that both embraces and has codified Sharia Law, a set or rules and regulations based (supposedly) on the Quran, which is supposedly the word of Allah, much like Moses and the Ten Commandments.   Let's face it, Sharia Law has NO PLACE in America, no place in our culture.   Is it fair under our constitution to ask people to swear to uphold our laws and system of government, and denounce and/or abandon their beliefs in Sharia Law? If someone of Muslim faith wants to believe that their faith requires them to embrace and support Sharia Law, we as a nation do have a problem when it comes to them becoming citizens of our nation.   Perhaps the best example of this problem is the growing problem of "Honor Killings" here in America.

I do not agree with how Donald Trump has framed this important conversation that our nation, and our leaders need to have...who gets to come to America, and what rules and regulations do we need to have in place when it comes to saying yes or no to those wishing to immigrate here.  However I do agree that A) we should declare a full and complete moratorium on immigration until we address the problems with the immigration system, and B) we should not allow 10,000 refugees from war torn areas of the Middle East unless we have the ability to fully and completely vet each and every one of them before they ever set foot on America's shores.

News Pundits Are Wrong About Arming Ourselves

Just heard a pundit on CNN state that Americans arming themselves will not stop a terrorist...his reasoning was pretty simple, albeit wrong.   The basic premise he had was this...the second you pull your gun on a terrorist, you are going to be the first one to get shot.

1.  The terrorist has to see you pull out and aim your concealed firearm.
2.  The pundit is assuming that there is only one armed citizen in the room/location where the terrorist is taking pot  shots at UNARMED INNOCENT CITIZENS.  What happens if two, or five, or twenty citizens in different parts of the room/location are pulling out their concealed weapons and taking aim, then shooting at the terrorist.   Would guess at least one of them is going to drop said terrorist dead in his tracks.

Fact...if you and everyone else in the room/location are unarmed, you have NO CHANCE at stopping a shooter or terrorist bent on killing as many people as possible with a rapid fire long rifle capable of spewing out 30 or so shots in a matter of seconds.   If some of the people in the room or location have a loaded weapon on their body, there is a chance one of them can get off a shot that injures or even kills said shooter or terrorist.

Arming ourselves gives us (no pun intended) a shooting chance, to some degree levels the playing the field, and might just give a shooter/terrorist some pause before they implement their suicidal attack on innocent citizens here in America.

Republican Debate Take Away...FUCK The American Worker

The take away from the Republican Presidential debate is pretty clear...Fuck the American worker at every step down the road.   Raising the minimum wage...forget about it, every Republican candidate wants to embrace the same old trickle down system that has decimated our middle class.   Illegal aliens who have stolen our jobs, and thus our American Dream...LET THEM SAY, Donald Trump the only one who says they need to go home.

Social Security...Ted Cruz for instance wants benefits (that are already deplorable) to grow at a slower pace, average American workers should work longer as in until they are so old they die before they ever collect a penny of the money they put into the system.   Who remembers when we got to retire and enjoy our Golden Years at the age of 60?  Here is a better idea Ted Cruz...how about if our Federal Government repays the Social Security system back all the money it has STOLEN FROM IT.

Did you get health coverage under Obama Care?   Well, kiss it good bye as every candidate on stage in this debates wants to do away with it and let BIG BUSINESS continue to rob us blind when it comes to health insurance.   Here is a better idea...take Obama Care further, eliminate state borders that protect BIG MEDICAL, and go to a Universal Health Care system with fair and equal access for all.

Bottom Line....if you want to die poor, broke and disheartened, put one of this nut job Republicans in the oval office in 2016.

Ben "Hammer Head" Carson Needs To Grow Up...Vetting Is Part of Process

I hit my Mom in head with a hammer!  So What?
Think at one point or another, we have all embellished a story, exaggerated an episode in our life for one reason or another.   A little more detail here, enhancing this or that aspect of what once was a real life event that over years even decades takes on epic proportions as an antidote shared with friends, or perhaps inserted into a talk or speech to make a point.   Most of the time these exaggerations cause no harm, rarely are we held accountable for stretching the truth to a point where it is scarcely recognizable from the original event(s) in our lives.   However; when you run for political office, especially if you are wanting to become the next President of the United States, that all changes.   We expect truth and honesty in our elected officials and anything they have ever said or written is going to be examined under a microscope.

Which brings us to odd duck "Republican Presidential Wannabe" brain surgeon Ben Carson who is all in a tither over the media's vetting process for the man who is now leading in the polls.   They, in his words" are being to hard on him, are grilling him harder than any presidential candidate past or present has ever been grilled.  He believes his story of his childhood temper should not be investigated, that he should simply be taken at his word.  OK...let's take him at his word for a moment, assume that all his stories and fabrications are true upon their face.

1.  You attacked your MOTHER...hit her in the head with a HAMMER.
2.  You smashed a friend in the face, your hand clutching a padlock, leaving a three inch gash.
3.  You apparently used bats and rocks as weapons against those who crossed you.
4.  You STABBED SOMEONE...saying it was OK because the knife broke on the kid's belt buckle as if an intervention from God.

Ben Carson attributes these violent acts to a pathological temper.  Is that pathological as in well out of the normal, extreme, even to the extent of mental illness?  As a voter, am I wrong for wanting to A) know the facts and nothing but the facts, and B) have reporters on my behalf ask questions about these violent attacks, and his claim that his pathological temper was somehow exorcised from his being after praying for three hours?  If the stories are fabricated, that makes Ben Carson a pathological liar.   If as he claims, they are true, that raises some serious concerns that would make me question his mental stability in regards to holding the highest office in our land.  Looking at pictures of his home, the shrine to himself that it is, complete with a picture of him with Jesus, find myself wondering if this gifted brain surgeon is perhaps more than a bit of a whack-a-doodle.

Add to this some of his views/beliefs, and one has to wonder how he is leading in the polls right now. When it comes to gays, he believes it is a choice, stating as proof the fact that a lot of men go into prison straight and come out being gay.   On the subject of the Great Pyramids...not so great after all according to Ben Carson, but instead grain silos to keep God's chosen well fed.  He believes that Congress's refusal to pass the Republican Agenda could see Obama declaring "Martial Law" thus seeing the 2016  Presidential Elections cancelled.   He believes congress should be allowed to get rid of any judge who voted/votes for marriage equality...never mind that our constitution only gives congress the right to remove judges for impeachable acts such as treason.  He believes Obama is deliberately holding down our American economy to keep people on welfare, has gone so far as to say Obama is the worst thing to happen since slavery.

Personally, am happy that our free press is properly VETTING Ben Carson and all the other candidates running for national office, and would suggest that Ben Carson stop his whining, and instead start coming clean with the American Voters, giving us straight forward, honest answers.

Democrats and Republicans; Please Stop Marginalizing White Voters

Make Your Vote Count...DUMP YOUR PARTY!
Compared to most, I am a bit of a news junkie, falling asleep, waking up to CNN each and every day, my television spending the better part of every 24 hour day on one news channel or another, my brain absorbing news as I go about my day.  The big news item from now until November of 2016 is the circus we call the  "Presidential Election".

From politicians to pundits, everyone of them seems interested in pandering to this special interest group or the other, is worried that they are not wooing enough Latinos (and Illegal Immigrants), Blacks (Black Lives Matter), or some other ethnic group that could STEER THE ELECTION their way.  This kowtowing to special interest groups is all well, fine and dandy, but not when it comes at the expense of the largest (and most marginalized) voting block in America, "The White Voter".

Here's a clue...a full 72 percent of those who bothered to vote in the 2012 Presidential Election were middle class white voters.  Yet, we have been marginalized by both sides of the aisle, neither Republicans or Democrats giving us the time of day, spending no time out on the campaign trail addressing our needs, and our concerns.   What makes us chopped liver, what gives these two political parties the right to simply IGNORE US, and more importantly, what do we need to do to have our issues placed on the table for discussion and redress?

Attention WHITE TOAST VOTERS...let's first and foremost stop showing so much PARTY UNITY...we are split down the middle on a small handful of issues, almost always vote along party lines and this allows politicians to ignore us, instead spending all their time courting various and assorted pockets of minority voters of various and assorted interest groups and nationalities.

There is something wrong with the system when politicians spend so much political capital talking too and about illegal immigrants (criminals according to the law) in the hopes of winning a larger percentage of the Hispanic vote, and no time addressing the concerns of 72 percent of the voting electorate.  Latino's in the 2012 election represented ten percent of those voting in the election, while white voters represented 72 percent of those who voted in the election...yet, WHERE IS OUR VOICE?   "Black Lives Matter", but guess what, so do white lives, and where is Hillary Rodham Clinton when it comes to speaking to and specifically addressing the concerns of this very large white voting block?  Women are talked to of all colors, same with the LGBT, Black and Muslim communities, but rarely if ever does she speak to white men directly about their hurts and pains.

As White Voters we can only blame ourselves, have marginalized our voting block by being party faithfuls split down the middle, half of us siding with Republicans, the other half siding with Democrats while both parties take our votes for granted.  Let's put our rubber-stamp votes away, become a block of issues centric voters united across party lines for candidates that represent and address our needs and our concerns.  I am all for equal rights, support some form of Immigration Reform, pro Marriage Equality, support Black Lives Matter, gun ho for Gay Rights, Women's Rights, but am also really tired of feeling marginalized, even demonized as a White Male Voter.  When and where do we get spoken to about our concerns?

Lets become confrontational, lets demand that our voices be heard for a change...the militant actions of the "Black Lives Matter" movement have gotten them two private meetings with Hillary Clinton, and a promise from her that their concerns will be a part of her concerns as she maps out her plan for a "Greater America" and kudos for them.   Illegal Immigrants and their supporters have both sides of the aisle sitting on their hands refusing to enforce our current laws out of fear that they might lose some of their share of that ten percent of the voting pie....HELLO....we marginalized white voters represent 72 percent of the ENTIRE VOTING PIE...how about asking us what we want, and plugging our issues into your plan for the future?  Of that 72 percent, half of them (women) are being included by one candidate or another, but what about that other half, the 35-36 percent of voters who are White Men...other than Donald Trump, no one is speaking to us, and I could never vote for that man.

As long as we "White Voters" continue our history of voting along party lines, we will be marginalized, not just during the elections, but in our day to day lives.

Affirmative Action...lets change that program around a bit.   Perhaps instead of Affirmative Action being a program that gives a hand up to people based on their ethnicity or sexual orientation, it should be a program that lends people a helping hand up the ladder based on their economic needs.  Does not a poor white child face the same obstacles to a better life as a poor Black or Hispanic child does?   Shouldn't they get those same advantages being doled out to people of color or a particular sexual orientation instead of being denied based upon the color of their skin?     Like it or not, reverse discrimination does exist.

Amnesty for those who are in America illegally...FORGET ABOUT IT unless we address as part of immigration reform helping those who have been hurt my illegal immigration.   First, like it or not, every illegal immigrant is a criminal, has broken our laws as they exist at this moment in time. Furthermore, every illegal immigrant in our work force has contributed to lowering of the wage base of the American Worker, and has taken a job away from an American.   BASIC FACT....a company has to get the work done, and if there is not an illegal immigrant standing at the door offering to work on the cheap, the employer will raise wages to a level that provides him with the legal employees he/she needs to get the work done and keep the doors of their business opened.   Immigration Reform MUST START WITH ENFORCEMENT, not AMNESTY!

Urban Renewal...how about some RURAL RENEWAL!  What, too many white folks living in Rural America?  Poor people (a lot of them White) live in Rural America, in the Midwestern rust belt are doing just as badly as the poor in Urban America's large population centers, but too often are forgotten about.

It may offend some in the "Black Lives Matter" movement, but all lives matter, and that does include the 72 percent of voters who are white.   Curious, and be honest...how many in the "Black Lives Matter" movement have gotten upset at politicians who have stated all lives matter, and how many of you would be livid if there were suddenly a large social/political movement on the national stage who's stated name and purpose was "White Lives Matter".   Isn't that more than a bit hypocritical? Why does everything have to be so divided along color lines, when people suffering, hurting all deserve a hand up?  Black Lives do matter, and the group has focused attention on a VERY REAL MATTER, and deserve credit for that, and I applaud and support their movement...but I also wish to damn hell that we Whites and Blacks who are struggling, having a hard time holding onto the bottom run of the economic ladder could figure out a way to get on the same team, and on the same game page.

In the CNN debate tonight, I would like to see politicians answer one question:

"The costs of taking care of illegal immigrants and their anchor babies (ugly term) runs into the tens of billions of dollars each and every year.   If elected president, would you be willing to sign an immigrants and their offspring if it meant you could forgive the college loans of every single Legal American Citizen?"
I believe we need Immigration reform, but lets work from a position of TRUTH ON THE MATTER.  Illegal Immigrants did broke the law, and some Americans were hurt as a result of their actions in working illegally in American.  Let's provide a pathway to citizenship, but do it in a way where those hurt by Illegal Immigration are made whole in the process.  Anything short of a solution that makes those hurt whole, while also providing a pathway is, in my mind an unacceptable untenable solution that must be opposed.

Think about it Republicans and Democrats...do you want to be doling out goodies to illegal immigrants and their children that are paid for with citizen tax dollars, or instead would you like to see the Federal Government forgive every single college loan on the books?   What positive changes would occur in voters and voters family's lives if they were suddenly free of that college debt? As a voter of any color, regardless of your party affiliation, would you be willing to vote for a candidate that was willing to implement this one singular action on the first day of their presidency through an executive order if it could be done, if it freed you and your children up from tens of thousands in college loans?   Not meaning here to pick on those who came here illegally, they are doing what they can to take care of their own families...in fact, I blame government, and big business....if law enforcement were coming down hard on the employers, this issue would not even be on the radar, and the Immigration Reform issues would have been solved long ago.

This is a call to action....stop allowing politicians to marginalize the largest voting block in America! Become a issue focused white voter today and abandon your single party loyalties.  Maybe if we do that, it will be a step to seeing voters Unite along economic lines, instead of dividing along ethnic, religious, sex/sexual orientation lines, and in that we then can turn our attention to the politicians and demand accountability, and laws that make America work for ALL CITIZENS, instead of just the few in the top ten percent, the UBER RICH who are oppressing us all.
